Diwali Festivals
Indian culture is extending across the globe. Many nations who have significant numbers of people from the Indian diaspora but understood little about the religious and cultural norms. Since the last decade or so, Indian festivals and the wider culture is being embraced by mainstream communities.
A catalyst for such change has been the rise in popularity of festivals such as Diwali. One of the pioneers of large-scale religious festivals in the UK, is the Diwali in London festival at Trafalgar Square
which was the brainchild of Nitin Palan. Since its inception in 2001, the Palan family has continued to support the event.
In addition, the Diwali festival events has further been extended at Downing Street and the European Parliament.
And as the popularity of the festival grows, Diwali is becoming a household name worldwide being celebrated in numerous countries outside India in iconic places like the White House and Times Square. For more
